1. A and an

   a and an are the same article. We use one or the other according to the sound that begins the next word.

2. The definite article

   the is used when the speaker and the listener know exactly which thing or person we are talking about.

   • The main use
   • Only one in the world
   • No article

3. Plural forms

   Most English nouns take an -s in the plural, but the spelling changes with some endings, and a few nouns are completely irregular.

   • The regular plural
   • Nouns in -y and -f
   • Irregular plurals

   À retenir :Plural = -s, or -es after s, x, ch, sh, or -ies after consonant + y; men, women, children, feet and teeth are irregular.
