1. Short adjectives

   The superlative puts one element above all the others in a group. With a short adjective it is built with the + est.

2. Long adjectives

   With an adjective of two syllables or more, the superlative is built with the most.

3. Irregular superlatives

   The adjectives that have an irregular comparative also have an irregular superlative.
