1. Un-

   A prefix is put at the beginning of a word and changes its meaning. un- is the most frequent negative prefix.

2. Im- and in-

   im- and in- also mean not. The choice between them depends on the first letter of the adjective.

   • il- and ir-

3. Dis-

   dis- expresses the contrary of an action or of a feeling. It works with verbs, adjectives and nouns.
